Why Buy Local?

There has never been a better time to support your local farmers.

  • Local farmers choose their varieties based on good flavor instead of long shipping characteristics
  • When you support family farms, you conserve farmland & local communities
  • You have a chance to know the farmer and his production methods so you may use your dollar to endorse the methods you support
  • Fewer miles from field to table reduces fossil fuel consumption and the resulting air pollution
  • Less packaging means reduced waste

Try with farm fresh ingredients!

“A Wonderful Evening”

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful evening: visiting the vendors, sampling their products, tasting some food. We met fine folks, had good conversation all while bluegrass music played.

“Food Was Incredible”

I had the loveliest time at the Canal Street Marketplace’s vegan farm-to-table dinner tonight. And the food was incredible. I could not have eaten more. Awesome.

“Had To Try It”

I’ve never cooked with rhubarb before, but when I saw it last week at the Canal Street Marketplace I had to try it! I got almost two cups of beautiful pink rhubarb syrup for my summer cocktails and the rest I will mix into yogurt or top on toast.
